Dean Gray
Publisher
Desert Valley Star & American Free Journal
publisher@desertvalleystar.com
Gray published his first independent newspaper in 1969. The independent publication of four issues convinced him to follow the path of art studying sculpture and environmental design at the California College of the Arts (formerly the California College of Arts and Crafts) in Oakland, California - also serving as editor of the college paper and president of the Art Student's Union.
Sculptures and constructions followed along with publications in various media over the last 30 years. In the early 1990's Gray joined the Internet, followed with stints as Marketing Director for several Internet companies. Gray also worked with software training, as web page architect and performing copy writing - finally serving as President of Computer Careers, a vocational rehabilitation academy and certified Microsoft test center.
Investigative reporting comes naturally to Gray as he's not shy about "getting involved." A long-time community activist, Gray has deep roots in politics, the environment, and the arts. As a businessman his determination to understand things compels his interest in getting to the heart of the matter and effectively communicating towards achieving useful objectives. more
